Work on the EIR (Environmental Review) is currently underway. The EIR is scheduled to be released in February 2018. Public review of the EIR is 45 days. Upon completion of the Public Review period, the plan will move forward through the approvals process, which includes Planning Commission, the Smart Growth and Land Use Committee of the City Council, and review and approval by the City Council.
Also the plan will be scheduled for a recommendation vote at both the Clairemont and Linda Vista CPGs after the EIR is released for Public Review and before the plan is scheduled for a Planning Commission hearing.
It was the release of the Morena Blvd Station Area Planing Study in January of 2014 that activated residents to acquaint themselves with what the City of San Diego was proposing for our neighborhoods to comply with SB (Senate Bill) 375 and the California State mandate to reduce our carbon footprint and meet RHNA housing allocations to solve California’s housing crisis.
The City continuously needs our comments about the Plan. Please review the Plan then submit your comments regarding ALL likes or dislikes of the plan to Michael Prinz, Senior Planner Planning Department – firstname.lastname@example.org .
