Get Involved!

As the City of San Diego begins the process of amending our Community Plans, they generally must follow procedures outlined in the City’s Planning Process Manual. SANDAG’s  Public Participation Plan outlines the process the San Diego Association of Governments must follow in allowing for public input regarding the Mid-Coast Trolley. Balloon Committee volunteers will alert all who’ve registered online when public input is solicited by either the City or SANDAG. In the interim, there are plenty of ways to participate!

  1. TAKE THE COMMUNITY SURVEY– we need your VOICE in the process of development of our neighborhoods. (5 min to complete)

  2. ATTEND upcoming Community Planning Group and AD HOC Subcommittee meetings.

  3. JOIN OUR EMAIL LIST – this is the easiest way to get alerts to new issues, meetings, updates.

  4. Check out our INFORMATION HUB – City Officials contact information is updated so that you can write letters directly to them.   Community Plan Schedules and Overviews published by the City Planning Dept are located here.  Videos of some previous CCPG (Community Planning Group Meetings are located here.

  5. YARD SIGNS are a great way to get more residents exposed to the upcoming Plan changes to our community and the signs direct them to our website.   The more public participation in the Planning Process, the better the outcome for our community!

  6. PURCHASE A T-SHIRT and wear it with pride at the next Balloon March and critical Council and Planning Group meetings!  There is demonstrable power in numbers and shows of force at official government meetings and hearings on the important ISSUES.

  7. Write your personal Letters to Editors of our local news organizations providing your opinion of the issues, why you moved to our community and how you would like to see our community developed and we will post them online.

  8. DONATIONS and/or SUPPORT  We can always use an extra hand or a monetary donation. Contact Committee members for monetary donations or availability to volunteer for upcoming event preparation.

  9. If you refer real estate sellers or buyers to James LaMattery, Berkshire Hathaway HomesServices California Properties, a $500 donation will be paid to RaiseTheBalloon Fund upon the closing of escrow.
